What We Believe

Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct

We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testament Scriptures; that they are inerrant in the original writings; and, that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and practice. II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:2-21

The statement of faith in this document does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, it is the sole and final source of all that which we believe. For purposes of Prescott Pines Christian Camp’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Board of Managers is the organizations final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

L

The Godhead

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit- who are identical in essence, equal in power and glory, and possess precisely the same attributes and perfection.

L

The Person and Work of Christ

We believe that the Lord, Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God became man without ceasing to be God; that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and Born of a virgin in order that He might redeem sinful man. He accomplished the redemption by voluntarily giving Himself as a sinless substitutionary sacrifice on the cross, thereby satisfying God’s righteous judgment against the sin of the believer. He gave proof that He accomplished that redemption by His bodily resurrection from the grave. He then ascended to the right hand of His Father where He intercedes on behalf of His people.

L

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Divine Person who convicts the world of sin; that He alone brings new life to those who are spiritually dead; that He places all believers into the one true church, which is the Body of Christ; that He indwells them permanently; that he seals them unto the day of redemption; and that He bestows spiritual gifts upon them.

L

The Condition of Man

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, in innocence and without sin. But in Adam’s sin, the race of man fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became spiritually dead. Therefore, man is a sinner both by nature and choice. Man, of himself, is incapable of remedying his lost and depraved condition.

L

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God’s grace given to all whom God has called to salvation. It is solely the work of God from initiation to completion. It cannot be gained by good works, but is a free gift for all who put their trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. All who trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are forgiven, saved from their sins, and righteous before God, and born into the family of God. God’s purpose for saving His people is so that they may bring glory to Him in their lives.

L

Sanctification

We believe that God, in the Scriptures, has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness. This includes salvation from the penalty of sin and just as surely the provision of sanctification (separation) from sin. Spiritual growth occurs as believers feed on the Word and are in fellowship with other believers for encouragement and service.

L

The Church

We believe the true Church, called in Scripture the Body of Christ, is a spiritual organism. Every person who has trusted Jesus Christ for salvation is a part of the church. The local church, as established in Scripture, is made up of redeemed individuals who have joined together for worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry.

L

The Eternal State

We believe that at death the souls of those who have trusted Christ for salvation pass immediately into His presence and remain there in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at Christ’s coming for the Church, when soul and body will be reunited. We then shall be with Him forever in glory. We also believe that at death the souls of unbelievers remain in conscious misery until the final judgment when the soul and body will be reunited and cast into the lake of fire—not to be annihilated, but to be separated from God forever in conscious punishment.

L

Eschatology

We believe Jesus will physically return for His people according to His promise.

L

Marriage

We believe that God created “man” (human beings) as male and female: equal but different so as to complement and complete each other in the sacred, life-long union of monogamous marriage, which He ordained and instituted. This renders homosexuality, and all other “sexual preferences” or “orientations” as unnatural and sinful, as they are opposed to the design and purpose of God for male and female human beings. Therefore, we can neither condone nor recognize same-sex marriages, civil unions, or domestic partnerships even if any or all of the international, federal, state, or local governments and/ or governing bodies pass laws concerning its recognition of such unions. C.F. Genesis 1:26-27, 2:24; Leviticus 18:22-23; Mathew 19:4-6; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Romans 1:18-32.

The Lord Jesus validated the covenant of marriage. Mathew 19:4-5, John 2:1-11

    1. Marriage is exclusively the sacred and legal union between one biological male and one biological female as evidenced by a marriage ceremony.
    2. Legitimate, Biblical sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hebrews 13:4
    3. All other sexually related activities, lifestyle choices, and identities are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible. Such behaviors, including the creation, viewing, and/ or distribution of pornography and efforts to alter one’s physical, biological gender, or gender-related appearance are incompatible with the teachings of the Bible.  1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 7:1-3,7:8-9; Galatians 5 19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7, 1 Timothy 1:9-11
L

Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image.  Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, which includes pre-born babies, the aged, the physically and mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. C.F. Genesis 1:26-27, 2:24; Psalm 139
